CAUSES – Overeating, eating while under stress, and overindulging in alcohol can bring on indigestion. Obesity is the most common cause of chronic indigestion.
TREATMENT – There is no single remedy. Antacids have always been good to use for heartburn. If indigestion continues, you should contact your doctor for a physical examination. Peppermint (Mentha pipperita) tea, chamomile, or lemon balm is good for bloating or gas problems.
PREVENTION – By watching your weight and avoid overeating, indigestion can happen less often. It is not entirely avoidable.
